Roto-fab CAI Release
After 8 months of development, we are proud to announce the release of the Roto-fab 2016-17 Camaro SS cold air intake system. This package delivers great performance and awesome sound without a tune or any modifications to the vehicle. Installation is easy and detailed, step-by step color instructions are included.
The Roto-fab 2016-17 Camaro cold air intake system uses all of the available real estate to package a huge air box and massive filter while maintaining an extremely effective barrier against engine bay heat. We’ve developed this intake to perform well as a “stand alone” mod while being capable of meeting the higher air demands of supercharged and high HP builds Our open top design effectively seals to the hood which maximizes air box volume while providing all of the advantages of a lid. We use top quality components throughout including high gloss silicone hose couplers, stainless steel hose clamps, stainless steel fasteners, molded-in inserts for air box and MAF sensor mounting and high quality filters designed to last for the life of the vehicle. The air box and duct work are custom molded to maximize air flow and fit the car perfectly. The logo badge on the air box has a black anodized finish with a laser etched Roto-fab logo. We also include a red Roto-fab vinyl graphic in the instructions giving end users the option of reversing the badge and applying the red logo to match the red lettering on the engine covers. The Roto-fab 2016-17 Camaro SS cold air intake system comes standard with an oil filter and accommodations for the sound enhancement feature in the car. Our dry filter option can be chosen for an additional cost. We are also offering the intake system with a “sound tube delete” option. This option eliminates the sound tube assembly from the inlet elbow all the way back to the fire wall. The package features a smooth inlet elbow with no sound tube provision and a block-off plate for the sound tube entry in the firewall. We will have systems available for shipment on August 19, 2016. With new releases, demand often exceeds our supply, so please contact us for availability. Roto-fab CAI system, Oiled filter, Etched logo. To clarify, this system shows our "standard options". If you order the intake with no additional options, this is what you will receive. Keep in mind we do include a red "Roto-fab" decal in every kit, which allows you to flip the badge over and use a red logo for a different look. Roto-fab CAI system, Sound tube delete, Dry filter, Red logo. Looking at the sealing footprint of the air box to the hood, you can really see the size of air box! It extends inboard all the way to the hood extractor and outboard as far as the chassis allows. Look at the distance between the outboard edge of the air box and the chassis itself. This design allows us to package a huge filter! Roto-fab CAI components. Shown with dry filter option Feel free to PM us if you have any specific questions! Michael |

Congratulations, you have finally released it! I'm sure many people where waiting on it.
Can you please elaborate about MAF readings and tune requirements? Is there an expected power gain as a stand alone? Will this fit any SC system that uses the Stock Air box? Would then a custom tune be required for the SC system? |

My question is why is the dry filter more expensive when you get less power

Inherently, there is more tech that goes into the dry filter. Notice the plastic hexagonal overlay and actual material used is superior compared to the oiled cotton filter type. The filtration capabilities are much improved, and the filter only requires knocking the dirt loose every so often. Its a life long filter really.

I already know I'm crazy, but I'm sitting here looking at this with 3 thoughts.
-the center of the engine is centerline of the car, the TB is the same general location -the filter location is similar, as well as the distance from the center and height of the tb to the driver side.... -so with the right rubber coupler for the tb, how hard would this be to adapt it to the v6...

Here is the answer on the sound tube delete. There is no performance difference between the two systems. The main reasons we developed the sound enhancer delete kit were for forced induction cars, and those with headers/exhaust, where increased cabin noise may be undesirable. The delete kit also gives the car a very clean look by removing the flimsy and unsightly sound enhancing tube.

I'm thinking they are waiting for independent testing of any power gains.
