exactly but as you go through the process, note which has better customer service during the inquiry. odds are it'll be joe and that's worth something to be kept up to date on when the ride will show.

OP, you’ll be luckily to get the car for MSRP. Ordering out of state, shipping will eat up any potential savings. Ordering cars in general never amount to much of a discount either, now especially. This is not the time to buy a car if you’re looking to get a deal.

As a side note I’m pretty certain I spoke w/ Joe during the sales process (nice guy). I traded a used camaro for the ordered camaro.

With the trucker shortage and fuel going up, it might be more than that now....

Thanks. I was anticipating that which is why I posted here to see if there are any lesser-known ways to get an edge here or there with some legwork and whether that is worth it. I totally get that dealers want to sell cars on the lot and that day. Perhaps I'll buy in mid 2022 when hopefully:
a) chip shortage has settled down
b) consumers are not quite as flush with cash as they are today (I don't mean that people on unemployment are buying new Camaros today but they might be supporting business owners who are...)
c) we can see the pricing, features, new packages for the MY2023 and I can see if MY22 or MY23 works better for me.

Just get an allocation and build the car the way you want and wait for it. MSRP is a deal

This is key. Make sure the dealer gets an Allocation. I asked to see the email verifying my dealer had an Allocation. Lol. Then I placed my order.
I wasn’t expecting any deal but they were nice enough to take 2 thousand off. I didn’t even ask but it was nice of them.

I would recommend Joe as well. I did not use him due to my location but for a future order I will more than likely use him. His was very helpful through my ordering process and provided me updates on my car even though I did not purchase through him. He was very upfront and provided fast communication when I requested a quote for my build.

Ha that's awesome! I don't think I'll get any discount from msrp, but as you know the market here is crazy. I'm more than happy to get my car at msrp! Ordered in July I think and it was produced this week, waiting for shipping now

I was able to order through my local dealer back in May. Worked out a deal to get it at supplier pricing. It was the most they would do. Only additional savings would be if there are any available incentives when I take delivery, but that is looking very unlikely to happen.

I ordered a 22, 2SS Convertible in Rapid Blue and the dealer dropped $990 off sticker. I could have gotten Supplier Discount which was about $2000 off, but I have GM dollars and you can't use both. So I negotiated to meet "somewhere in the middle" so he would make good money and I could get a bigger discount using the GM $ and cash off MSRP. So as of now, that's about $2500 off. With cars taking so long to get delivered, I'm hoping my car comes in early 2022 because that's when I get the "we'll double your GM $ offer" in the mail. Hoping for rebates when it comes in too. Hope springs eternal!

From what I've read, the semiconductor shortage could be lasting until 2024:
