New tune and dyno numbers

Ok so I previously had a thread about poor numbers on a dynojet being 578/638 with RF intake, TM TB, 9.17 lower pulley, Kooks 2” headers.

Took car to MS tuning and first pull on Mustang Dyno with no change in that tune was 558/619. Then with his tune, 612/642.

Car idles better and throttle response is much smoother too. Very happy with results from the new tune.

Good power with that short Mod. List for sure.

Not bad, esp on Matt's dyno. Keep in mind your pull was prob done in 85 degree heat w/100% humidity. My car has been on Matt's dyno at least 40 times. haha. I know it all too well.

I’m very pleased with Matt’s tune and how he explained things after the tune. As far as numbers go, you are right the weather was not the best but even with that I feel as the out come was real good and I’m satisfied. I will be going back to Matt later this year for Ported SC and meth. That should be my end game.

The shop was RK Speed. His tune made 578whp on a dynojet. The idle would pulse from 500-550 and kept feeling as if was going to shut the car down. The power under 2k rpm with light acceleration would bog and stutter. It just never felt 100%. I called him and even txt some of the problems and at first he would just say well it’s the crushed section on the exhaust or “that’s the tune and it’s done”. After that he just didn’t respond and if I have to ask twice I’m not going to ask again. The guy might know LS motors but not the LTs. Funny thing is their slogan is “we take horse power seriously” well apparently not.

WoW... using the crushed section as excuses for a crappy tune.

This goes to show how important a good tuner is. ...and thanks for letting folks know about your experience.

I'm glad to see that we're starting to get better numbers from modding these cars. It seems like people are getting stronger results now. The more I see the more I'm thinking I'll mod mine.

That is just plain awful. You are right, big, big difference tuning the LT4 versus the LS series. Mike at Vengeance told me it is night and day and not remotely comparable. Thank you for posting the name of the first shop. Yikes!!!

Who was the original tuner.. I had same problem with wifes car. The TB wasn't opening till 4k rpms a long with other things. It's only a SS but its making 612 and 666 on 93 on his DYNO... It read 578 at powerfab after the tune and headers, It felt like it was hesitating in rpms i took it back to see why it was hesitating it then only made 558. Got a second opinion at Matts she is really happy now..

Her car doesn't even feel like the same car.. I was running the same setup as you on my M6 ZL1 it made 643, 654 and 659 at Matts.. The lower number was the coldest day lol.. could of been better gas on hotter days or winter blend on cold day to the numbers being off.

Now mines back over there now its to 800 on 93 only haven't got to the E tune yet.

The shop was RK Speed. I must say that I should hvave known better and not had taken it to him but it is what it is and it’s all good now.

Matt tunes my car as well, really knows his stuff. After my last mods with J-Rod, and another Matt tune it made 761 rwhp. I wanted to get all the power I could with the mods I have without pushing it too far yet. Definitely delivered.

I’m looking to the future for some more mods. What have you done to get the power you have?

Be nice if we could have a Tuner Face OFF!! Take the same car to top 3-5 tuners. Set it to stock tune when you get there, do a couple stock pulls, then do a couple with their tune and compare the gain differences between the different tuners. Forget about peak numbers since dynos read different, just see who is getting the most reliable gains for the buck.
