SC Whine + Intake

I really hope this isn't a super ricey question.

I am really not impressed with the whine my 18 makes with the Vengance intake. I am considering a new one.

What one should I get? No other mods. All my other cars (N/A) I've had roto-fab and loved their quality.

Thanks in advance.

i heard the NX plate makes the whine more noticeable. this sounds dumb but that is the main reason why i didn't go with a supercharger or the zl1, we just don't get that whine the hellcats get :(

Best way to hear that whine in all honesty is to spin the blower harder. We hear them plenty good after an over drive balancer. The standard Roto-Fab works great for a stock ZL1 but if you start adding mods like pulleys and such go with the Roto-fab Big Gulp. If you really want to get after it get your blower ported (at least your snout) and get a 103mm throttle body. That's when you can really here that LT4. We have all this stuff in stock and we always have discounts for forum members. We also have package deals based around these set ups.

Get the NX lid. Problem solved. You'll have crazy whine for days.

If whine is all you want, then you need an open CAI like the Weapon-X or Rotofab. Then either buy an NX Supercharger lid, or remove the rectangular sound deadening from the factory lid. Finally, add a ported 87mm TB. You will add HP and not need a tune.
You will hear the blower then.
If you want more, go for blower porting, pulleys, etc.

I have Roto-fab and Mamo on mine. I thought it didn't whine much. The other day I was on interstate with radio off and windows down. I hammered it and the sound was amazing. It was very loud. With easy and conservative driving you are not going to hear much.

Man, that sounds great all around. What are the "custom J-pipes" you mention in addition to the two Borla pieces and the Kooks axle-back? That's probably the deepest least raspy sounding aftermarket exhaust setup I've heard so far.

Thanks! I’m very happy with the sound. Corsa is WAY too high pitched for me, and Borla to me sounds like a much nicer version of the stock exhaust system in regards to tone.

At first I thought that was MBRP exhaust.
I’ve been kinda eyeballing the MBRP.
Your car sounds awesome.

Most CAIs are similar in design. You won't notice much difference in whine among them. NX lid is pricey, but it will give you whine all say long. Also adds some bling under the hood and is supposed to aid in cooling the SC.
