Vararam install problems

Just installed my no-tune vararam intake had no fitment issues but now I have a check engine light. I'm pretty sure it is because only one screws that hold the maf in the intake will stay screwed in. Anyone else have this problem or know how I can fix it?

Sounds like something isn't sealed right. Is the MAF cable plugged in all the way? and is the seal for the MAF in place?

Just edited to better explain the problem. The maf seal is in place but I can wiggle it alot due to the missing screw.

Tried that, the screw just falls out. I guess I'll have to drill a new hole tomorrow or buy a bigger screw

Was this a tamper proof screw? I've seen MAF sensors that have these…I don't have my mark yet otherwise I'd tell you.

Doesn't sound right, both screws should seat and hold just fine. I would look up steve with vararam (do a search on the forums) and give him a ring. He will make sure your taken care of!

Took the intake out and tried the screws without the maf and they hold just fine but slip out with it on, so I'll just get longer screws

The brass screw inserts should be flush with the plastic. However even if they are slightly recessed the screws should still be long enough. Does the MAF sensor look like it is seating evenly?

I just installed mine yesterday too, I didnt even get the screws for the maf in my kit. I had to go to my back room and pick a couple that fit. But they have not loosened up on me at all yet, ill chack again tonight to make sure. I dont think drilling it would be a good idea, the screws are not supposed to go all the way thru the housing into the flow of air inside it. Just bring the assya nd the maf sensor with you to the hardware store and get some better screws. Im sure its sucking air if theres only one screw holding it in place.

Contact Vararam, they will take care of you! It sucks that you have this problem and Vararam is kinda notorious for these kind of issues!

Are you saying the brass insert is coming out? I've seen that before and you can just super glue it into place Just don't get any glue on the internal threads.

Like Mike pointed out, Vararam seems to have QC issues but they are great about making things right, if you call them.
