Agreed. This seems pretty close to what I was expecting. Z51 at $5k is a good deal - I thought it might be $7500. I think the best value C8 is a base 1LT with performance exhaust a la carte. That's about $61500, which is a hell of a lot of car for the money. I'd take that over a ZL1.

Says performance exhaust = NPP, nothing about "headers" on the Z51... somebody make that up?
Nowhere on the Z51 does it say the trans will have a different gear ratio. As I stated 300 posts ago, most of this 0 -60 is because of tire. I have to admit $5,000 is not a big reach, but I would save that form my supercharger upgrade. Base Vette for me. It is too bad I'm such a skin flint aka cheap and lazy. I'll wait a few years. It I was a yonger man, I'd already have ordered one.

I’d like to see how the dct handles a supercharger and that ecm is not cheap to tune yet. I guess we gotta start somewhere.

Prices seem about as-expected. LT2 having PDR and HUD isn't cool though, those should be Z51 options and Z51 + LT2 + Magride is expensive, might as well just get LT3 at that point and spend $80k on a fully loaded C8. |

In 2 years I should be able to pass bus duties off to the middle son. By then GM should have one available with a supercharger and hopefully they will have come to their senses and made MT an option. Until then I need my 1LE to get three kids to school every morning.

The base C8 is about 400 lbs lighter than a automatic ZL1 and most people did not think a Base C8 would be under 60K which includes destination. Not what everyone was expecting at all.

ZL1 vs "base" C8 is going to come down to buyer preferences (ie if ZL1 is the faster track car until better C8s come out, track guys will still want the ZL1, people buying a street car might want the C8 more, etc).

Yes, I remember that also, many people saying the C8 was going to be in the 6 fiqures, All of the info available at least 6 months before the reveal indicated a affordable C8 just like the affordable C7.
