Yeah that's my point, they paid so little attention to this they looked up the rating of the previous gen GT500, and then mistakenly apply that to the current GT350. They dont know what these cars really are, and dont care.

I picture some lady working at home freelance for CNN on auto topics and other random stories that nobody looks at CNN for and CNN doesnt care about. She wrote this in her pajamas while making her morning coffee and toast, and watching Netflix.

Yes, and with a cigarette under one boob and a lighter under the other boob.

I'm sure the GT500 will be a great car; they've taken long enough to develop it.

I keep thinking that its actual impact in the real world is going to be limited. It's got 6 digit price tag written all over it, which by extension translates to fairly limited production. Add all of that up, and I am not going to hold my breath on seeing one along side at a red light any time soon. I think most of these admittedly cool cars will find their way into climate-controlled garages, and VERY few will ever really get driven in anger.

I know it's not an apples to apples comparison, but I have yet to actually see a new Ford GT on the street, and I live in a place where I see Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and other exotics on a nearly daily basis.

I don't anticipate a 6 figure price, I'm guessing maybe $85,000 MSRP, or less if they're smart. There will be the Ford dealer markup like on GT350R, which is still a mystery to me for a car with so much less than the ZL1 1LE, and no markup on ZLE.

The Demon was $85,000 and more unique and impressive in certain ways. Demon is a historic car.

I'm hungering at the bit to see when the LT5 shows up. I would also LOVE to see additional options for interior/exterior carbon fiber, a few different wheel sets, and blue and white optional stitching. Probably not gonna happen, but man, I REALLY hope so.

GT500, despite the 760 number, is still (likely) a big ol' fat girl (4000+) siting on Mustang's antiquated S550 chassis. That big boned girl, may need higher TQ #'s to get back up on plane after cornering. Obviously, with GVW unknown everything is speculative at this point.

I will however, concede straight line acceleration to the Mustang. Unless the outdated chassis design makes it hard to put power down.

Alpha rigidity in collaboration with hard mounted DSSV and 3Rs alone IMHO, is enough to give ZLE a distinct advantage on most (especially technical) circuits over the new Ford pony. Especially in an endurance comparison (which I know that we're completely unlikely to see) as opposed to a hero lap or two.

Given some of the overheating and failure issues in the latest generation of GT350, are the 8 heat exchanges minus FPC in the 500 going to be enough to keep that high revving 5.2 happy?

ADM's will in most places be $20k+. Ouch! Now we are in up level (Z06) C8 territory. If I were to spend that kind of money, I would hold out for the mid engine Corvette.

So, like may others, I am thinking LT5 on an Alpha II Gen 7 would be a very special animal.

keep in mind the 6th gen chassis is only 1 year newer than the S550's.

Why does everyone think this car is going to MSRP for over 100K?

The Ford Fanbois always talk about how "special" the GT350(R) GT500, but when the C8 comes out, that will all go away. The C8 will stand alone, albeit the untouchable Ford GT(not normal car), against all comers. Ford has never competed against the Corvette and as far as I can see, they never will.

I don't know of anyone posting that. I guess msrp will be $85K with a $20k-$40k adm.

Nobody said MSRP $100k but it will be close!

The GT350R is $69k so it will be north of $70k MSRP for base....how much will the track carbon fiber package cost? $10-15k?

Most I have seen say $75-85k MSRP add track pack plus ADM and it’s well over $100k.

I can see the greedy Cali dealers asking $200k+ for this car in the first year and someone will pay it.

Sorry for the chaps that bought the 350R
