Problems with whipple hood clearance

I cut the hood as shown on whipples drawing. The hood still hits. I put a video camera under the hood as I close it to see where it’s hitting. It’s hitting right in the center and without taking the two support bolts out I can’t cut any further back. Anyone else have clearance problems and if so what did you do to fix it?

We never have that issue with a Maggie, I didn't know the Whipple was hitting the hoods on the Zl1's. I knew the 2650E did as Lingenfelter and EDF found out. Sorry to hear this.

I went by the drawing whipple supplied. Everything was dead on to their drawings. It took a while and I had to take everything apart to find the problem. First was the hole wasn’t wide enough and the wiring harness hit the front of the cutout. I fixed that. Then the bleeder for the inter cooler was hitting. Now that’s fixed. I would think whipple would do a better job with the R and D.
Anyway I’m done and loading it up in the morning and dropping it off at Jannetty’s for tuning and if needed low side fuel.

Hope these postings help save you time. Intimidator Doesn’t have the factory harness running across the top or the factory bleeders. That’s why he had no problems with clearance.

I’m not happy with the way the hole for the bleeder looks. I used a hole saw to make sure it was round but the edging doesn’t lay in there perfectly. I’m going to look for a rubber grommet to fix that. I’m excited to see what it’s capable of.
