Possible purchase of 2010 SS

I am a newbie here wanting to purchase a 5th gen. I have found a 2010 SS with the following mods:

CNC Ported Cylinder Heads
L92 Stage 2C Camshaft
Dual Valve Spring Package
Ported Intake Manifold
Ported Throttle Body
Kooks 1 7/8 long tube stainless steel headers,
Kooks Catted Connection Pipe
Kooks Catback
Roto-fab cold air intake

Anything I need to be leery of?

Any additional insights/experiences welcomed.

I'd look for a low mileage, one owner, stock. I have an idea the one your looking at has been punished,as in look at the mods done....they're not cosmetic

Appreciate the insight. This one is a two owner with approx 7k in mileage. Should I still stay away and look for a stock?

7k ain't bad unless it was 1/4 mile at a time.

According to the description the owner purchased the car from the original owner around 5k miles and driven by the original owner strictly for pleasure and has never seen rain. I haven't seen in person or test drove. Pictures looks very nice. Is it worth the effort to review in person and test drive?

Depends on who did the build, how it was driven after the build, if everything was done as it should have been, etc. if a reputable shop did the build or the guy knew what he was doing then the build isn’t bad. Also, like hunter said, if it was 7k of 1/4 miles then that’s a hard life but if it was 7k road miles with an occasional run or pull then I wouldn’t be as concerned. At the end of the day if you’re nervous about it then leave it and go after a different one.

Thanks for much for all the insight. The shop who performed the mods seem to be very reputable. I have also reached out to the owner asking about any driving and racing history, 1/4 mile or otherwise. We shall see.

I would never buy a car sight unseen, modified or not, but especially modified.

I have no idea what the laws are in your state or whether you're buying in another state.

Where I live, "as is" is not a valid way to sell a car. If it doesn't pass inspection, the seller has to fix it or void the sale. But if you buy out of state, you are SOL. So be careful.

Great comments Rock-It, thanks. I, likewise, will never buy a car sight unseen. I'm doing my due diligence as this 2010 is approximately 200 miles away and out of state. I'm trying to cover ASAP around this subject before to decide if I make the journey to view/test drive. I will need to review these modifications with a inspector beforehand to ensure they meet all state requirements.

Keep 'em coming folks, as this is all tremendous insight.

I would at least do a compression test on the motor.

It’s sounds like it is well built, if you spoke to the shop who did the work and after inspecting it and driving I would make my decision. Not all modded cars have had the piss run out of them. Just check it real good and decide

Did I miss how much they are asking? If it is out of state I would have it checked out by a performance shop.

Two owners in just 7000 miles? Not me, but it’s your coin
