BMR Suspensions, Yes or No?

What's up Cam Fam,

I have been watching a lot of Doris' (Women Driven) video's on YouTube lately and getting some insight on different mods she has been doing on her ZL11LE.

Intrigued with the BMR suspension swap out that she has done and curious if anyone else here has done the same or have any feedback on their products?

Thanks in advance

Yes. I have done it and I am very pleased. The bushings are for sure the most important, but I also did the control arms. It gets rid of the side to side tail wag when changing directions.

You can see the difference between the stock arms and the BMR arms in the pics I attached.

Also, every bolt that you have to take out to do the upgrade needs to be replaced with new ones, as they are one-time use.

BMR makes great products and they test them rigorously. I have used their products and several mustangs I have had and they perform great!
I just ordered the front subframe supports for my ZL1 and plan to do control arms a bit latter.

I ordered a complete set after I saw that video as well. Then I found my two front stocks we’re leaking on the DSSV’s and did not install so that I didn’t get any flack from the warranty dept.

You should just ask the dealer if they will install the components for you. My dealer installed my exhaust system for me, and I should have had them install the BMR stuff also.

Go for it....I did the rear stuff...Control arms, Trailing arms, and the rear lockout kit...Definitely tamed the rear down under WOT.

Are you planning to install yourself? If not, reach out to Kyle at BMR and he can hook you up on the parts and do the install.

Hey Mark,

I want to add to your comments.

I see you have the ZL1, and I have the SS 1LE (basically the same suspension wise).

The OP and the Youtube Video car is the ZL1 1LE and has the solid rear cradle bushings standard, while our cars have rubber cradle bushings.

I swapped my rear cradle bushings with the ZL1 1LE solid pucks and I also noticed a huge improvement in the side to side rear sway that our cars have in quick cornering.

I always wondered if adding the arms would have much effect and be worth upgrading, since IMO the solid rear cradle bushing took away ALL of the side to side sway issues I was feeling.

While it would be cool to try all the other arm upgrades, that one change for me was enough and got me the results I was looking for.

OP has regular ZL-1. See signature. Bushing upgrade will definitely help him out.

Hey all,

Thanks for the responses, Since this beast isn't a daily driver I may just do the full package and do it all at once and kill two birds with one stone. Im not tracking the car, YET, but Im all about getting the best performance possible.

Went on the BMR site and looked at the upper and lower control arms for the rear. Are they giving a price for both sides or just one side, doesn't really say? Also adjustable or non and why?

When you look at their site at lets say the rear lower arms. That is the set of two. So on left lower arm and one right lower arm. I would go non adjustable unless you race the car regularly and/or need extra adjustment on alignment.

I have asked people who track. Their feedback - BMR adds weight and removes any flex (which is not what you want) in an already stiff car.

The stock setup is perfect for 99% of the customers.

Don't fix something that isn't broke. GM's engineers know what they are doing.
