I'm looking to get a new SS camaro and am torn between either the 1LE or the Fifty edition. I am getting this car as a toy and like the idea of a "race car" but I also like the fact that the Fifty is a special edition and only offered this year. I do like some of the things that come on a 2SS like cooled seats, leather, and dual zone climate, better audio, blind spot etc... But i also like the idea of race car (really want recaro seats). I really wish the 1LE was offered as a 2SS, I would just go that route. I am currently going to wait until the local dealer gets a 1LE to see what I think, I've seen the Fifty in person and really like it. Any input on this?

This, unless you want a special edition car that may (or may not) hold it's value better a long way down the road.

The Fifty is not just stickers.
Wheels, painted brake calipers, performance grill, tri-tone interior package with suede.....then some stickers and badges.

I could never understand paying a premium for so called special editions that are basically cosmetic. In the 50's case, every 2017 is a 50th as far as Im concerned. I don't like the nonsymmetrical wheels that point forward on driver side and backwards in the passenger side either that come on the 50. The 1LE is so much more even without the goodies. If you want the goodies and still have the 1LE look, buy a 2SS and spend the premium money you will save for not getting the fifty and make a 1LE.

Those brakes are standard on all SS models except for orange paint. The color is available on all SS models for not additional cost and RS is basically standard now on an SS models. Pretty much stickers and funny looking wheels on an SS with a little different seats.

It's all in what makes you feel froggy. Not worth it to me.

The 1LE is made for a very specific and narrow customer base. Not many want the 1SS and 6 speed manual etc. The 50 can be ordered with automatic and 2SS.

I myself will be ordering a 2SS with 6M and in a very specific color scheme.

You can also get a 50th package on a V6...

Yes the 50 package is available on all but the ZL1, 1LE.

I think the OPs optimal decision may hinder on what the 1LE really offers relative to the SS. The fifth gen SS suspension was not sorted (to put it lightly). The 1LE for 5th gen SS totally corrected many flaws where possible, totally improving the driving characteristics. That made the 1LE a must have for the 5th gen. The 6gen SS already has Really excellent driving characteristics and suspension setup. That kind of puts in question what the true purpose/value of the wE will be this time.
