New recommendation for washing microfiber- cold water and vinegar

Based on recommendation from The Rag Company, I have been washing my microfiber in cold water and adding vinegar into the bleach dispenser.

The towels are definitely coming out softer than when I used hot water and no vinegar.

Microfiber melts at 140 degrees so if your hot water heater is cranked up like mine, you could be damaging your microfiber.

Thank you for the tip Kirk - are you using laundry detergent as well?

Vinegar acts as a fabric softener and you can use this with any laundry.

Iv'e been doing this for decades with towels and other fabrics that you DO NOT want to have fabric softener into the fibers but you'd like a better hand feel.

I have been washing in hot water with tide separately for years, I still have some towels from a few years ago that are in amazing condition. Think just buying the right towel and making sure they are washed right away and by themselves is the real key...but thanks for the tip.

Thanks, will try it! I also have the CG microfiber wash.

One interesting thing... the cloth I used to apply Carpro hydro2foam is still soft and feels new while the others are slowly getting less soft with each use like normal.

Cool!

The guy in your avatar, The Most Interesting Man in the World, lives near me. He's getting old, but he still makes local commercials. He owns a bunch of liquor/party stores

I've been trying this and the microfibers come out soft, but it's hard for me to really tell the difference. I might have to do a comparison of one load with vinegar and one without, and experiment with the amount of vinegar as well.

I've always used cold water on my microfibers.
