Hey Mike,
You bring up a good point. I just checked my car, and my photos, and I just don't see how that would be an issue based on the air flow direction in and out of the air filter area. I also checked my first round of data collection... and although my IAT.1's were higher on average (3-5) degree's with the bracket, the air was also (2-3) degree's hotter than the baseline. Add to that, my IAT.3's were actually (3-5) degree's cooler with the bracket on vs. the baseline, in warmer weather... I know those numbers don't mean much because the real benefit is in underhood heat extraction, there will be a residual benefit to IAT.s.. or perhaps a decline based on your logic of sucking in hot air, but I don't see any evidence of that thus far. So for Rain. I'm only talking rain, nothing else. This would be exactly the same as running with the rain guard off correct? And is water getting into the engine bay so bad in that area. Obviously, GM doesn't want it there, but I hear some are running without a rain guard in the rain. What is the danger of water getting into that area of the engine bay?
