Read trans axle fluid flush

Looking for advice for my 23 2SS1LE The salesman That sold me the car in July of 2023Told me at 1500 miles Plus I should be getting the Differential lube Change He said because of all the Clutch Material in the rear end Can have debris From break in He said that flushes out Contaminated Clutch Pack Material The salesman has a 22 ZL1 1LE He tracks the car several times a year and that is good preventative maintenance I do not plan on tracking the car but do like to have fun on the back roads What do you think is best! Thanks

It's not that expensive to buy the fluid and change it. Just do it and be on the proactive side to making sure the diff stays in good shape. There is a specific GM ELSD fluid though so make sure you get the correct fluid.

The fluid is usually dirty after the break in period. Supposedly the gears are have some sort of black coating that comes off with use. If you're going to beat on the car on back roads (high rpm) for prolonged periods at a time (high amounts of heat put into the fluid), probably better safe than sorry and get the fluid changed now - it's not expensive, especially if you change it out yourself.

Note the change interval for track driving is 15 hours of use (possibly 24hrs depending on which year of the high performance manual you read). So if you like to flog it a lot on roads, keep track of your driving hours under those conditions and change fluid accordingly.

Ive done two cars differently, the 18 1LE didnt get changed to >35K miles. My ZL1 has been changed twice in 19K. No logic or reason I just chose to do it, or not. On that the first change on either car, the magnetic plug was caked with goo though.

I can confirm this to be 100% true. I bought mine new, waited till it had about 4k miles on it, then did it. I wish I did it sooner. It came out grey and funky. I dont track mine or even beat on her all that much. Since then, I do it with every oil change. its cheap and easy to do, easier then changing your oil.

I have a lift in my shop with Amsoil gear oil in a 5-gallon bucket with a pump... I change it as part of my pre-trackday prep just to keep an eye out for anything mysterious or irregular.

Calls for 1.2 qts. I used recommended fluid. Got it on Amazon and it was shipped from a dealer in WI. Changed at 6200 miles. Fluid still clear and no mud on plugs.

SS 1LE has the eLSD that the regular SS doesn't have. eLSD takes close to 2 quarts.
