Bought the car 3 months ago. It had 14,800 miles on it. Week two I was adjusting tune to help reduce shudder. Wasn't much longer I replaced the converter with an FTI 3200 stall. New fluid and filter and more tuning. Shudder is gone

I had the flush done at about 14k miles. Problem started to come back about 4k later. Had TC replacement with the updated fluid at 25k miles about 2 months ago. Started to shudder on the drive home from the dealer. Now there is supposed to be a permanent fix 1st quarter of next year. We will see.

My 16 got the shudders at 10k miles and eventually had the TC replaced at 12k miles. It still ran great when I traded it at 20k miles for the ultimate long term solution.

Well guess what guys. Mine has had it for several months and ive just been told a bulletin was sent out to the dealers to not replace any torque converters or transmissions because it has been determind it isn’t an official fix. I was told the bulletin states to wait until quarter one (which is Jan-Mar.)for them to come up with something. Which is total bs. Mine started right at about 10k also. They have done the transmission flush procedure and its still happening. Some of the transmissions obviously are defective either that or the torque converters.

Yeah this has been the "rumor" going around for a few weeks now, a solid fix supposedly early next year...we shall see. For now my Range is working around the issue big time, hardly notice the shudder and issues, minor compared to not using the Range.

36,000 miles. And runs smooth as hell. No issues at all. Luck of the draw I guess. I've talked to around 30 people with A8s in their Camaros and haven't meet one yet that has experienced any issues.

30 people.... holy smokes, where have you been hanging out? I swear I haven’t seen that many (in total) 2016 - 2018 Camaro’s on the road, never mind having conversations about the “shudder”

Such a poll will invariably be biased towards the negative outcome. I don't have the shudder, for example, but who's to say the car has "enough" miles for me to say it never will and vote "no" here.

I've met quite a few at a number of car meets over the last year. I've read quite a few threads about the issues. Just haven't met anyone outside this forum who has experienced the shudder.

A8 Shudder Poll

I see at least 5-10 6th gens a day on my 80 mile round trip commute to work here in northwest Florida..

don’t forget, the same A8 is available in the Silverado/Sierra, Corvettes, Colorado/Canyon, Tahoe, suburban, Escalade... and so on

I had a guy in a newer Tahoe the other day at the gas station ask me if I’ve had any issues with the 8 speed. Said his converter had been replaced once, after that the entire tranny. 45k miles.

You don't really have the problem until you experience the effects even in manual mode with the car set to track (disables AFM). Then you know actual damage has been done to your transmission. Plus hard, delayed shifts in low gears and reverse are pretty unforgettable as well. My dealer says I really only have 3rd, 4th and 5th gear left without any noticeable damage, everything else is crap now.
