The various manufacturers have different types of service analysis equipment for their dealers. For instance, Ford's tool is an all-inclusive diagnostic reader, data logger and oscilloscope with integration to their vehicle workshop manuals; GM has most of their tools all separated and not integrated. |

That's what I read too. I am wondering if they just submitted a reading from another car, or I just showed up in the lot maybe, and they didn't even have to take it out for a drive.

I am new to this forum due to my own A8 problems.
I have a 2018 2SS with 7100 miles on it. I just dropped it at the dealer today to investigate and decided to my own research when I found this thread. The problem started around 3000 miles and has gotten progressively worse. I am pretty bummed bc I was planning on putting a supercharger on it, but even if they were to fix the problem I would be concerned about having issues down the road. Has anyone heard if there are any updates on the new TSB? |

I had the new flush done several weeks ago. I think I have 400+ miles without a shudder.

Just fixed my shudder issue......... Had Circle D 2800-3200 stall installed yesterday. Tuning TCM next but my initial review is......gm needs to contract Circle D to make their TC. The myths of a high stall driving style is not correct and I love the new feel. Once tuned it will be even better. If your plagued by shudder issues just do it. you wont regret it.

Nice update..
You paid $499 for the Circle D 2800-3200 ? How much do you figure the labor to install and tune this TC will be? If it works then great but I would feel really raw paying $1,000+ to fix GM's problem. Also, do you still have the hesitation when you are cruising then try to give it a little more gas? It's almost like you need to go heavy on the gas to avoid the hesitation which isn't natural for me to want to do all the time. If you have passengers it looks like you are flooring the car instead of increasing speed gradually. GM sucks for this and dealers should have told buyers to go with the manual trans instead of looking the other way then pretending they never heard of such a problem after you bought the car. No I bought my Circle D from a Camaro6 memeber for 900.00 and then install was 600.00- yes raw for sure but I intend to keep this car for a long time and dont want anymore issues with GMs Tc. I am getting my TCM tuned in a few weeks and will update. I dont need to floor it to go as it feels very close to stock in normal function.

Wow... Is this the same part for $499?
http://www.circledspecialties.com/4l60-hp-series-278mm Either way, paying close to $2,000 for the part, install, and tune to fix GM's F-UP is a ridiculous price for us to have to pay. Maybe I'll sell my Camaro when the 2020 Supra comes out. It's supposed to do 0-60 in 4.1 sec with Porsche like handling. One thing is for sure. I'll never buy another GM car after the A8. |

Unless you want a 4speed TC. Don’t get salty at me. Go get another car. Idgaf. My problem is solved...no go solve yours chief. There are solutions everywhere. Just don’t expect gm to provide them lol.

I even said "Nice update.." to let you know I appreciated the idea. I am raw with GM not you because I spent good money and the A8 is crap. For 38,000 I got a loaded V6 with RS, Lighting, Nav, etc. It was the cheapest sporty looking loaded car I could find and it would be a great car if the A8 wasn't such a piece of shit. They should have put in a dual clutch AT and added 1000 to 1500 to the price. I can't believe the Corvette owners aren't screaming for a dual clutch AT. I am sure a lot of owners would gripe over a $1299 Part + $600 labor + $700 tune $2600 bill to fix a problem GM has know about since 2015. Last edited by T32803; 04-13-2019 at 10:13 AM. |
