Axle back to Cat back? AWE

Anyone go from axleback and add the cat back at a later time?

Wondering if it’s worth it and if it sounds any different?

I have the AWE axleback and it sounds great but then I saw those pancaked stock pipe in front of it.

Hey! You are the first person I've seen post that says they have the axle back AWE exhaust. That is the one I"m thinking about as well. Since I'm in California, I don't intend on doing any other mods really to the ZL1. Exhaust is about all we can get away with in this freakin' state.

Do you have any video's of the axle back? According to the AWE website the axle back is slightly louder than the cat-back.

I don’t have any videos but it sounds really good. I can do an iPhone video when the weather clears up if you want but I wouldn’t hesitate to go with the AWE touring axleback and I’m coming from a 17 C7 GS with Kooks headers.

It could be because the pipe is smaller stock and the way it’s run for the volume I’m sure AWE could confirm. Those stock pinched pipes may have some impact.

That’s in a way what my post is all about, if it’s worth the extra cash for the rest of the exhaust.

I did just that, started with the AWE Touring Axle back and found it to be too loud/raw for my taste. Called AWE and ordered the mid pipes with resonators and I'm much happier with it.

Are you able to post a video of your axle back AWE for us? I'm getting close to pulling the trigger. Thanks!

Very interested in the awe touring axle back as well. I don't want to worry about changing out the hole stock exhaust system and then having to store that huge thing.
Is it true like the one guy said that its too loud and raw?
I would like my exhaust louder then what it is now stock but do not want it obnoxious by any means.
