Supercharger Sound Plate

While I have the lid off, I am debating on taking the sound plate off under the backside of the lid. Anyone that has done this, do you hear a difference in the SC sound? Thank

Yes, it's been done and for the cost adds some whine. Here's a link

Noticed when I removed it,that it trapped a lot of oil ....
So may be useful to trapped a little bit of oil for those who don’t run catch can....
Didn’t see any sound difference (but I had a rotofab witch make it louder...)

Minimal increase at best but, worth the effort it takes to remove the five screws holding it in place.

I just took the plate off my SC lid today while finishing my catch can install. There was quite a bit of oil back there. Looking forward to hopefully hearing some more whine.

Between finishing the catch can install and work I should be able to drive the car this weekend. I can’t wait !!! Hopefully it’s loud enough to make a difference.

It’s barely a noticeable increase but I can tell the difference. If you have the lid off it worth taking the sound plate off, otherwise I wouldn’t go out of my way to do it.

Unless you’re bored and want to turn some wrenches on the car.
