That’s pretty deep and pretty large, if you are a stickler and want it done right, I would take it in. also that blue is a three stage tintcoat, I believe.

I'd try touching it up, but you might want to ask a shop first. Most won't do any type of touch ups and would want to paint the entire bumper cover, but it's free to ask. Since the damage is down to the cover you probably won't hurt anything by trying the repair. If it doesn't come out to your satisfaction, the cost to repair it will be the same with or without your touch up.

I'd personally use touch-up paint. Not worth $500+ to resolve IMO.

You can use touch up paint but the result will depend on your skills.

Since it is a metallic paint, there are 3 layers total, a primer, a base coat and a metallic coat. If you do a touch up, it will be visible and look worse than if you leave it alone.

I have similar scratches on mine and my local body shop quoted me around 250$ cad to repaint the bumper and fix the scratches. I plan to have it done this summer.

My girlfriend's car is the same kind of paint and when I went to get the EXACT paint to do a touch up, here's what it looked like (the touch up was pretty thick knowing she would get it done professionally, I just wanted to avoid corrosion).

Dr Color Chip, great product for about 50.00 or so, I used it on my 2011 inferno orange when I needed to. worked great just follow the instructions...

I ordered some touch up paint and will try that. I did get a quote from the dealer's repair shop and it was $584.
