Paint wear on stock SS wheels?

Was washing my car (hadn't been washed for a few months) and noticed this "wear" on the driver side wheel (pictures attached.)

Never have seen it before and it is VERY noticeable so not something I would have missed before.

I've used the same stuff to clean my wheels and car from day 1 so I don't believe that to be a factor.

Could it be a faulty coating? Or could it be from a possible break fluid leak eating the paint off?

Is something like this warrantied usually? I mean it's certainly not normal wear and tear. And it doesn't appear to be road rash.

Yup, seen all the time when they paint wheels. Some are having luck with warranty, some are not. The ultimate final answer is powder coat.

1. Ask for warranty replacement.

If that doesn't work.

2. Get a body-shop to powder coat them.

That's about all I can do I guess?
