Would love to see it somewhere on the east coast. Northeast would be perfect but the weather does not always cooperate. Would be nice to join everyone!

it really does need to be central this time... and it needs to be somewhere that would be willing to do this gathering repeatedly, as I'm sure we'd like to establish a three year rotation with east, west and central

I dont really have any suggestions, since I am not familiar with any of the tracks in the central part of the US, but I definitely dont think going as far north as Chicago or some of the north-central states would be a good idea... something more along the lines of St. Louis or Kansas City

Problem with excluding the "north central" states as you put it, is that you loose some good track options, like Joliet, and by your definition, Indy even. Can't have it in a place that doesn't have facilities... Not sure that St. Louis has them anymore, since Gateway Raceway Park is closed now. I think I've seen plenty of support for Joliet or Indy in this thread. Obviously, I like them since they are close and pretty close to me, respectively.

Heeeey! this is my 1,000th post!!!!!!

The problem with going too far north has more to do with being able to schedule something and having the weather cooperate. The last thing the Camaro5 moderators who organize this awesome event want to have happen is that they spend all the money and have the track all rented out and then it rains/snows/whatever.

I don't know how track rentals go, but I imagine refunds are hard to come by...

Just because it's closer to more members doesn't mean they will come to C5Fest. A lot of people near C5Fest 1 that didn't attend the first one and were whining when the second one wasn't in their backyard. I'm on the way to Cocoa Beach right now for the Hot Rod Power Tour, because I go where the event is, not complain that it isn't in my backyard. Follow the event, the road trip is half the fun....
I take exception with your reply...

Some of us don't have the time or cash to play follow the event like some people. So because I can't travel 18 hours to an event, I'm being lazy if I only want to travel 7? Also, as long as it's in the midwest REGION (which I think most of us are advocating for), I would personally be happy about it.

Since this is year 3, you're not building up from the ground floor like you were in year 1, and if you did an IP check on this forum, I'd wager more than 3/4's of the members are east of the Rockies...

I won't disagree that you'll have plenty of people in the area who won't be able to make it, but at the same token, your best bet for the most turn out is to be in places where access is the greatest. That doesn't mean it has to be in the same facility every year...but bouncing from say Kansas to Indiana to Missouri every other year would bring more people than say Georgia to Arizona to Kansas...
