Turns out the 2019+ Bose sound system sounds amazing!

When connected to a big boy amp!

Finally got around to tackling the AXDSPX-ETH1 married to a JL Audio 8 channel amp for that sorely lacking sound quality in our Bose cars.
You know that feeling when you play an overplayed song that has bored you long ago, but then you play it on a decent system and it sounds like never before? It's like that!
Oh, also I can actually hear my rear speakers now!

Which one? VX800/8i? I'm pretty familiar with that amp and the DSP.

I'm pretty happy with mine, with just an added sub. I can play certain songs in other cars and not even hear the bass. Play it in my Camaro and it's a whole new song with a lot more depth!

Was ready to coming in HOT on this thread but you buried the lead… you got me lol. You’re spot on about the rear speakers… in stock form it’s like they don’t exist.

I feel like the sub would kinda overpower the stock Bose speakers, no?

I don't think so. I tuned it down, to the best of my amateur ability, so that it matches the sound of the Bose more or less.

Reading this thread is tempting me to step it up though...

Well, just go back and read your response. You're having to cripple your sub amp to get semi decent sound....

‘… amazing…” Really, with those stock speakers? I’ve seen bigger magnets on my refrigerator. I can read the headlines on those recycled newspaper speaker cones…. Come on brother….

Bruh, it was meant to be a click bait title! Haha
But the before and after does sound amazing honestly, when I grow up I'll get some big boy speakers too.
Any suggestions?

LOL, OK, I see you say click bait, but you are also celebrating way too early. Well, who knows, maybe the amp DOES make a big difference.

I thought that the amp is the LEAST important component - until I swapped out my home amp, a huge 85 pound, 5 channel x 200 watt, class A/B McIntosh M205, for a nice, light, 3 x 250 + 4 x 125 watt (7 channel), Class D McIntosh MI347.

The M205 sounded smooth, airy, musical. The MI347 sounded sharp, sterile, and ¨digital¨. After I tried it at home, I begged the Music Store to let me take back the M205 I traded in. They did. I also traded and upgraded my McIntosh AV processor with them.

Who knew!

For speakers, my installer recommended Morel (smooth treble from silk tweeters), Hertz (middle), and Focal (bright).

So this is why my sub is over powering fronts even after I tuned him down? Well... It felt from the beginning that oem setup has some kind of tuning to boost bass, as there is no displacement to develop good bass, which then is amplified by my added monoblock and 500W of 12in. It is muddy at low volume, only good to listen at "listen volume". The rest sounds yucky.

But I didn't know you can replace that thing! Thanks! I will add "amp change" to the list of priority buys. Hmmm... its on 9th place right now...
