Yep, makes sense, but again we don't know. Maybe the owner's incapacitated somehow. I'm sure he has more than one site he's maintaining. It takes time and really he has no obligation to talk with anyone just to have a huge group of people bitch him out because their entertainment is inconvenienced.

I’m not an IT professional, and have ZERO knowledge of the finances related to running any site, much less one as large as this one…

I do know the owner is chasing the issues, as it affects three large platforms and maybe other sites related to automotive forums he owns.

All I can do is share that the admins are aware, as are the mods, and the admins are diligently trying to resolve the issues and stabilize the platform…

Having the build thread I do, I’m as vested as anyone on this site, so I and others also share your concerns… Hopefully this all gets resolved until the next attack by bots/spammers/hackers or a software issue…

The sliding ad thing at the bottom is beyond obnoxious. I don't post a lot, but I read quite a bit and do report spam bots when I see them, which is fairly often. I get sites go down and I get sites need to make money, but the moving ads are the straw that breaks the camel's back for me.

This site that is primarily for ICE enthusiasts makes it a prime target for woke EV activists to be hacked, disrupted, canceled, or somehow abandoned by it's members in favor of transitioning to EVs and the Green New Deal. So far they have had some success...

The DOJ is likely scouring the site's database looking for adamant ICE enthusiasts they can categorize as right-wing extremists and terrorists....

Who cares it's free and helpful. If your life revolves around it and can't wait. Try some other place or just get a life. Out in the country our satellite tv goes more often. But the air still smells like cows or hay cutting.

I was on other car forum that runs with Vbulletin... They are always having problems. This is very very old tech and should not be down like this.
