New Car Order BS

My wife has had a new Camaro on order for 4 weeks and GM still has not accepted the order!!! I think GM needs to fire their Supply Chain manager and find one that knows what in the hell he or she is doing. Ever since I worked for GM back in the early 70's they were screwed up then and it seems nothing has changed. I hope GM monitors this forum.

4 weeks and you’re complaining Some people have waited a year or more. Hopefully you get an allocation soon.

A dealer not getting allocation yet for an order isn't GM's fault, that's on your dealer for taking your order and not giving you a timetable for when the order would get an allocation or would be picked up by GM. A month isn't a long wait at all, however you need to talk to your dealer to ask when they will get the allocation for your order and keep following up every week or two if the order doesn't get picked up. Just stay on top of your order with your salesperson.

Your dealer is the issue... not GM. They love to get customers on the hook for cars they don't have an allocation for.

I ordered mine on 11/1 and it was finally accepted less than a month ago. Nothing you or anyone else does will change that.

Waited 4 months for an allocation and another 4 months for delivery. The mileage finally caught up to the horsepower.

May your horsepower keep up with your mileage a bit longer

ZL1 ordered Nov 14, 2022. Still at 1100. I'm doubtful it will get picked up this model year.

Some people have been waiting for 6 months or even a year for an Camaro (2SS or ZL1) allocation.

Tried buying any in demand performance vehicle since 2021? This issue is spread across OEMs and not just GM.

^^^ that's what I'm (and everybody else is) talking about.

Here is a guaranteed paying customer with money down on an expensive product that exists and is being manufactured, yet his order isn't accepted for months simply because he presumably went to the Wrong Dealership that Does Not Have "Allocations". Absolute nonsense of a system from a holistic perspective.

Same thing I kept telling the 3 dealers I was working with on allocation before I gave up after 7 months. Here I am a paying customer, with the credit and financing ready to go, but I can't get an allocation. It's a screwed up system.

Since '24 will be the last hurrah, will GM and their dealerships keep taking builds and getting everyone's hopes up and not be able to fulfill all the orders? Presumably!! That's wrong in every sense.
