You can also just use the GPS data and ignore the video after the runs, and delete the video while leaving the data intact.

I used the free version of RaceChrono with a Samsung phone and it worked great. Very simple too. I used it for the first time yesterday at Lime Rock Park in CT.

To use it, open the app and press the big Start button. It prompts you to select a track from the library, and assuming you're already at the track, it will default the pick for you. Then just secure the phone and go.

Besides showing lap times and maximum speed (English or Metric), it breaks the track into sectors, captures your best time for each one, and calculates your optimal lap. Fun!
