So I've been thinking about this "issue". Why couldn't they, or someone else, design a fused piece to keep it from snapping? Reduce or remove the tension coil, so the movement of the top slides the panels in/out.

Has anyone had these replaced outside of warranty? I had both panels replaced 3 years ago or so under warranty but I hear the creaking again like its about to happen.
