Man that is good information. I will try the light acceleration before Friday. I wonder if the dealer will just wait until February 2019 for the fix, or do the tranny flush.

Exactly what was said, an extended incline with light acceleration....and a warm transmission. Mine was happening most noticeably when the car transitioned from V4 to V8 mode in 2 to 3 second bursts.

The dealer looked at my car this afternoon and found the shutter to be present. Since it was late in the day, I was told to bring it in Monday for a transmission flush. I was advised as well that GM would roll out a fix early next year.

If this is the case, GM just told all that have had the TC replaced your vehicle is not fixed. I think this is telling! (they are now out of the costly TC replacement business!)

The other terminology that stands out is a revised "service" procedure will be released.

Sounds like another new magic fluid and possibly shift tuning.

Shit. This does not seem promising.

My opinion, the upcoming fix will be a tune and fluid flush, or a combination of that and new pendulum torque converter, which is used in recently released GM 8 speed trucks.

My car recently experienced this issue. It is a result of a crystalized shift boot in the torque converter. Flushing the transmission is supposed to break down the crystallization, but GM is expected to announce a permanent fix sometime in February.

they told you this or you are assuming this?

our problems are caused by the low pressure pump not being able to hold the t/c friction plates together causing premature wear. The shudder is the transmission sensing slip and switching from the low pressure pump to the high, and back. flushing the transmission rids the transmission of the friction material, which will cause further issues down the line.

if you have the shudder, the damage is done. you can possibly tune out the slip tables, causing the high pressure pump to stay on more often, but it's just a bandaid.

My flush lasted almost a year and 15,000 miles, but the shudder is back. Going to the dealer tomorrow to get another flush until the Q1 fix is ready...

Please let us know if they give you any problems with that. I took mine in for the first time with the shudder a little over 500 miles ago, and they wouldn't do a triple flush. They claimed that GM only allows them to do a single flush, and they put this note on my ticket:

The problem only went away for about a day and has happened ever since. I'm thinking about going back to a different Chevrolet dealer in the meantime waiting for the fix, but I'm not sure if they'll give me crap or not.

no triple flush? that was to get all the fluid out of the coolers and everything... I guess now blowing air through it, clears the passage way for a simple 1 flush treatment. cost savings?

Somehow I doubt it. Seems like they were being cheap to me since it didn’t work, though I’d love to be wrong.

My first flush was just a single and it lasted 15,000 miles, so I guess it varies.

I'm heading to the dealer (a new one for me since I just moved from Missouri to North Carolina) with the TSB in hand. Will let you guys know how it goes.
