Spark Plug Wires

As soon as i get my headers back from Ceramic Coating, i will be installing them on my car. The Question that I have is, What is everyone doing with the plug wires? Using the Stock ones? Upgrading to a more Heat resistance wires? I am reading about issues with the stock wires and heat under the hood. One reason why I am getting the headers Ceramic Coated.

I have read it depends on what headers you use. I have the 1 7/8 TSP headers and have no issues what so ever. I see a lot of people that use these if they have problems.

I got a custom built set from Scott's performance wires. They are really nice and were priced pretty cheap. I relocated my coils behind the front fenders so they were 8 fairly long wires. https://sparkplugwires.com/

I just put some heat tape around the stock boots where they are close to the headers

A BUMP.
Ok. How can some say they have no issues with stock wires.

I have Kooks 1 7/8. Cylinder 5 gave me a headache. The boot is basically touching the header. You can see it melted even with a heat boot.
It took 18 months.... but it finally let go.

I have Kooks 1 and 7/8 I was on the stone stock wires for years. the boot at the coil pack has to be turned 150 degrees facing directly away from the plug this pulls that wire further away. Early this year I tossed the metal can and spring, cut the rubber hexagon thing away from the plug boot (give some flex). and zipped tied a fiberglass shield onto the wire. The fiberglass has some color but all is well.

It melted because the wire is almost touching not the boot. Had you put some DEI sleeves around the wires they would likely held up. The factory boot and heat shield is not doing you anything here because the primary sticks out further then the factory headers.
