Thanks- Yeah, was hoping for a low 2:04 at the start of the weekend. During my previous trips to VIR in the Camaros I really emphasized maintaining max pace up the esses which I did well, but as a result- I ended up track left on entry to South Bend (T10), and therefore pinched T10 (mid-low 80's mph min speed) and lost quite a bit of time. This trip I wanted to prioritize getting up the esses quickly, but equally important was the run through T10 South Bend. My fast lap was actually slower through T10 because the rear stepped on entry. The earlier laps my min speed trough T10 was 92-93mph.

His vs. Tony for speeds: At the Bridge 122 / 129, peak (non-wheel spin) speeds 133 / 137, and minimum 120 / 118. Furthermore, towards the top of the hill in those corners, at the end of the LH rumble strip, Provoste was going 128 vs. 124, and at the start of the next rumble strip on the RH side, he was at 122 vs. 118.

Summary: Tony is decent but Provoste is much quicker of a driver in my opinion.
I appreciate the kind words, yeah the ZLE on 3R's has a ton more mechanical grip.

Of all the racetracks I've driven, I'd argue the climbing esses provide the greatest window into a driver's confidence in his/her abilities. You have to have a plan in place if you're going to attack the esses.

I agree fully. In another thread, I showed how Jim Mero was light years quicker through them than Tony Q in the 15 Z06 Z07 and the 19 ZR1. Not knocking too hard on Tony, but, if I had his time logged on VIR, was running for a number with coaching from GM's pro, I think I'd be on "FULL SEND" through them or at least closer to that.

You're doing it with your own car knowing you, the car, the track, and the risks associated. Impressive any way you cut it.

I ditto this. Truly remarkable pace and level of commitment (and SKILL) on Eric's part. Friggin awesome for a stock car!

I've done a similar exercise with Mero's and C/D lightnighting lap vids.... Thanks for the compliment!

1:28.4 around MSR Cresson 1.7 CW, I'm in a v6 1le, Hotchkis sway bars and vorshlag camber plates.
Trying my best to get into the 1:27, but I've hit a plateau with myself where I don't know where I can improve. Spent all day in the low to mid 1:28s, frustrating but fun nonetheless haha.

My new personal best @ Dominion Raceway....

Track: Dominion Raceway
Elapsed Time: 1:38:505
Camaro Model: '17 manual 2ss
Date of event: August 15, 2019
Tires: OE Goodyear (worn, seen 4 tracks prior)
Mods: Whipple, CAI, & 2" headers

Fast time was on my 3rd lap during my 2nd session. Lap timestamp shown at video clip time mark 9:00. I was pushing to get a lap time around the 1:35:59. I was pushing a little too hard when I should have backed off right after my 3rd lap and pit in. My brake fluid boiled out on me. At one point during my 2nd lap, felt like my braking was soft, a mushy feeling as I tapped on the brake. But a few seconds later, I firmly pressed to brake and it felt normal. Still I should have been cautious and pitted in as soon I felt something wrong. ...I'm still a beginner/intermediate group driver who tries to have an instructor ride along if possible.
