Radar Detector

...for GEN6? Looking for best detection and seemless integration. I hate wires.

Uniden R3 or the new R7, that said no experience with the R7 but do own an R3 and it has amazing range and is fairly quiet. I have two Escorts (older) that constantly alert about BSM signals I pretty much ignore them or just shut them off. Don't even screw around with the tapping into the mirror power go right to the engine compartment or trunk to a switched circuit with an ADD-A-Fuse unless you want it to turn off every time the traction control activates.

Get one of these regardless of what you get, buy once cry once.

I've had a Valentine V1 for a long time, but I realize not they're not everybody's cup of tea. I like the direction and bogey count, plus other features available on the app.

I used a Gen5DIY harness to wire it: https://www.gen5diy.com/collections/...tector-harness

I have 3 Valentine V1s that I use between my cars. I’ve wired them all differently (direct wire, V1 Savvy, custom harnesses) and the Gen5DIY harness is the only way to go in a Camaro.

Wow... I knew the V1 was/is a great detector but surprised to see so many still swear by it being older tech. Is it really still relevant this day and age?

Have also heard great things about the Uniden r3 & r7.

Price wise had been considering the r3 or escort iX. Leaning more towards the escort because of its slim profile. Is the r7 or v1 really worth the extra coin?

R3 with a blendmount and gen 5 diy wiring harness is what I have. R7 just came out but is nearly double the price. Basically paying for arrows, but I would get it if I didnt have the r3 lol.

Just as an alternative, I have a Uniden DFR9 with the blendmount linked above. Works pretty well, never let me down so far .

No directional arrows, but it was like $220 new, very close to an R3 in terms of functionality, and its range is more than good enough for me.

Oh, and the phone jack is on the right side (unlike with the R3), so there's no wire in my field of view

I went with the Radenso Pro M with the visor mount on the passenger side. It is my first radar detector but it supposedly has the least number of false alerts from other car's blindspot monitoring without resorting to notch filters that completely ignore certain frequencies that cops can/do use like Uniden has implemented. The Pro M does false on certain newer Mazdas and Cadillacs but only those. It also lacks a rear facing horn and directional arrows that some of the more expensive detectors have.

+1 for radenso pro m. I use this with the suction mount and hard wired to the mirror. The latest update last month got rid of the new Mazda alerts. So far, it’s been really quiet. However, I blasted through 2 traps on the same hwy and It didn’t even register. Kinda raised my eyebrows! Haven’t been through anymore traps all summer. Figures, 3 tickets within 2 months before Radenso, and now I have it and nothing all summer.
