Since it was new the car was always 42 ish psi at most when driving. I always thought it was weird. Dealer said normal. It would drop down to 25 ish or so at hot idle. Always went up to 40-42 if you even touch the gas at all.

I’ve owned a number of Chevy vehicles, mostly trucks. I have never seen one that ran oil pressure this low. Most have been in the 70 to 80 psi range.

Low 40s is about right - sky high oil pressures are probably a contributing cause to pumps failing prematurely

I don't recall 2016 build dates as having the issue. I thought it was only late 2017/early 2018 builds that were affected.

Did I miss something? I could have sworn a day or two ago the polling showed zero 2019 pump failures. I look today and I see a failure.... does anyone know if this is a true failure, or is it a mistake on the pollers part?

Reading thru this, I noticed people reporting oil pumps failing from highly modified motors so could be that as well.

Well. I got the call. Car is supposed to be ready. Hopeful that it’s ready. Hopeful that it’s done right. Thankful for 2 more years of factory warranty.

So they had it a week? If so, not a bad turn around. Let us know how it goes.

They had it two weeks exactly.

The car is driving nicely. I did get the PID programmed in torque pro to show oil pressure. It was a surprise to get that to work. I had to program the PID manually. I’d love to know what other PID codes are hidden in this computer.

Anyway... cars running well. Oil pressure never goes over 43 on the gauge again. According to the torque app. The pressure does go over 43 when driving but the gauge never shows it. It’s weird. The water temp never matches either till the engine is warmed up. My Viper is accurate with the app. Anyway. Off topic a bit. The car runs and drives. I did get to see the oil pump they removed. It was cracked in half. Similar to the photos shown earlier in the thread.
