Thanks Becky. I just put the e-track in friday. Screwed into the cross beams every 16" and riveted every 8". Its slick wish i ordered the trailer that way. The track in the front was for strapping down my tool box only and I ordered it that way and it is recessed which is nice. the next trailer will come with it for sure.

2001 Silverado 2500HD 8.1L, ATC Raven 20' V-nose, 3500# torsion axles, w/6" taller roof (for other toys), installed E-Trak and anti slip Dinogrip strips on ramp.
First all aluminum trailer, the less weight makes a big difference towing.

Here is my rig. [IMG][/IMG]
Its a 24' Stealth V Slopped Nose. Pulls great although I need some more torque for my 5.3 17 Silverado LTZ. I have a Maggie sitting in my shop to install before the next time out.

I havent towed my ZL1 yet but I have towed my old c7Z06 and a 1970 mustang with my 2011 GMC and 24ft enclosed. I had a 18ft flatbed equipment trailer but wanted to protect my toys better. I just swapped to a 2018 version of the truck and seeing how much more oomph the engine has over the last diesel, towing should be even more effortless and the last one didnt even know it was pulling a trailer behind it. Still have some growing pains with the new truck though but it should be done with now.... knock on wood. I only wish I had escape hatch on the side. Is that possible to retrofit later? It has 5k axles and d rings in the floor from the factory. I added a winch to make up for lack of hatch though.

As a follow up to the uhaul. The silver uhaul trailer is wide enough, however at the front of the trailer is a 6" tall bump stop designed for your front tire to be up against. Obviously this is a problem considering the clearance of the front splitter.
You could put something down like some boards or something to raise the height of the tire up, but personally I didn't like that idea. I guess I'm going to look for a trailer this summer. |
