It's Here - My 2018 ZL1

Just got to the storage building to see it. It hasn't been prepped yet and I'm waiting to do so until I get the chance to be able to oversee it myself. Only got 1 picture of it so far but more to come.

I have the following waiting to be installed:
Roto-fab
Diode Dynamics LED sidemarkers and license plate lights
GM ZLE Dark taillights and 3rd brake
Rear reflector tint

Can't wait to get started. I plan on doing a full detail myself, going to give it a Finishing Polish (Essence or Adam's Finishing) which should bring out some awesome gloss and shine. Seal, Glaze, and Wax it. Got a load of CarPro products on the way...

I was a bit depressed to see a bit of orange peel in the paint, more than I'm used to on my "nice cars"...I know our clear coats are already very thin so I doubt we have enough to work with to wet sand it to get it flat?

I wish. Mid 30s for weather, still salt on a lot of roads, and a lot of them quite beat up from the plow trucks and frost heaves...Probably will sneak it home on a sunny day and detail it/get the light mods done and then take it out in May.

Looks amazing.. When I had my ceramic coat and PPF installed, they can wet sand the orange peel off. I've just gotten used to that on most cars.

I wouldn't sand factory clear coat to get rid of orange peel. I would say almost all factory clears are too thin to do that to without risk of burning through or making it super thin so the UV protection is weakened and it starts to peel in a few years.

even with a new coating put on top? we'll see. mine doesn't sit in the sun too much.
