I follow Glen's procedure. On film (and stripes), I do Dawn or Rinseless as the case maybe then Crystal Seal, no polish, no nanoskin sponge.

I took my SS straight to film as well before driving it around. Xpel in my area had a wait time of >4 weeks so looked at Ziebart who are local to me and gave me the appointment in a week. Their top of the line protection film comes with a lifetime warranty against yellowing, peeling, bubbles etc. Very reasonably priced and guy did an excellent job.

clear bra

I put the clear bra on immediately. I put in on the entire front end and the first 24 inches of the hood. I also covered the rockers from front tire to rear tie, mirrors, door cups and behind rear tires. If you are going to put in on, I suggest almost immediately. You would be surprised how quickly the rock and sand debris from the road have an affect on the front end. I also covered the entire car with a ceramic coat. I couldn't be happier with the results.

I don't plan on doing this. Not a daily and never had a big issue with rock chips.

I didn't have a big problem with rock chips on my '13 ZL1 either. I think that was because the front splitter was unpainted black plastic. The splitter on the '17 ZL1, on the other hand, is painted. If the several small chips I got in the first 575 miles is any indication, it's going to quickly get peppered with rock chips -- even when it's not a daily drive. I would highly recommend, at minimum, getting the splitter covered in protective film.

There was a guy who put a CF spoiler on his Z and he actually got a rock chip on it. You never know where you might get hit.

Who are you going with to do the work? Invisibra is the only company I know of.

I can probably repaint cheaper than what I was quoted for a front end clear bra, behind wheels, etc.

One of the issues when only a few shops perform a service....No competitive pricing, when you have a monopoly.

I'll live with the chips...it's a CAR not a museum piece.

Sharp Wraps in Carrollton.
They did the tint on the windows as well. Really impressed with the work.

Price is the best I've found in the city.

I would not trust anyone doing a full car for $2500, maybe you'd get lucky if someone was just trying to get established, but I would guess you are more likely to get a poor job.

Price sounds about right, I am paying a few hundred less than that for same thing with Suntek's best wrap, just did not see need to do roof considering I have sunroof, or deck lid.

Is anyone planning on doing the dealer installed one? I'm thinking about it. Believe it was like $575 for the whole front end including side view mirrors.

I covered everything you're planning to cover except for the doors but also added the impact area behind the rear wheels. The single stage paint correction and film application cost me $3.2K, so $3.5K with the doors is in the ball park. The two coats of glass coating cost me another $700.
