Man, shame having to ditch stock DI. I wonder how the replacement fueling works? Is it fuel inj. nozzles ports into custom manifold?

The pic I have I think is Edelbrock 2650 with Katech supplemental ported bolted on. Like less $ version of the 2019 LT5 ported supplemental fuel in addition to DI, like the 2019 ZR1?

I'm looking forward to getting pistons to prepare for FI later & better fueling, maybe LT4. Axels & driveshaft maybe, not sure if any weak links below 700-800 whp other than pistons rods & maybe valvetrain, valves & springs, need better brakes. I feel like a kid telling Santa my Xmas wish list.

Not sure if ok to post weblink, but.

I was originally looking for an El Camino since I've had at least 3 but were harder to find and I found the wagon in Kentucky that was already painted so I bought it. Then I took it from there.

Ditching DI is a huge improvement, it's there for emissions, not power. Port injection works exactly like it does on the LS stuff, if you watch the video you'll see the injectors in the Procharger intake manifold.

OK I will watch video all the way, thanks for info. Very nice work, good job. Are the stock DI ports closed/plugged off? Thanks.

Maybe I misunderstood but I thought that DI gave a huge improvement in lowend torque and hp. Not that that's relevant in this scenario. There was a vid from some Katech engineer that I saw, I thought? Or maybe too many Corona's....

HP for HP a DI motor will make more power. But at the high HP levels we are talking, there are no DI components that are large enough to bang down 1400 WHP, especially on E85. Port is a necessity at that point. I like the idea of having both, just like the LT5.

Yes, we had a billet plug machined that is the same shape of the injector to plug them off.

Some people tried to use stock injectors with no fuel coming through them and they ended up acting like a glow plug, so the billet plugs are a must.

Not really.

Mod for mod the LT cars consistently make less power than the LS cars, when you would expect exactly the opposite. My ZL1 made less power than my CTS-V, and the ZL1 has a more efficient supercharger. Oh and my ZL1 is a M6, it should have been over 100whp more than my CTS-V was.

Interesting differences in the LS than LT1. I like my LT1, I thought I liked the DI and maybe supplemental, but looking at that pic, I'd like to make mine like that. Ported Fuel, manifold looks more expensive, but this is maybe a cheaper build than adding a PD 2650. I like the Procharger intake & red valve covers look great like the new LT2.

Thanks for confirming the plugs, makes sense.

The wagon is more unique, I like it better & closed up in the back, it's nice.

I have an 82 Silverado, it was my grey-primered DD for long time, had it since college 25 yrs. I'm finally mostly done rebuilding it after 4 yrs. Need to do home improves, but planning upgrades for my Camaro later. The ported fuel intake with DI delete seems simpler & more custom, very nice.

After watching video, like idea of ported fuel intake, but that is a big change, but it makes sense for a custom build. Thanks for sharing.

I once drove a procharged Gen 5, maybe upper 500, someday I'd like make mine to be about 600whp. Alpha chassis in Gen 6 Camaro deserves more hp than 400 something. To be safe, I'd like GPI pistons kit and then FI, maybe procharger or PD. There is a good machine shop I've used, he's outside Fredericksburg, VA. I could put in the FI kit. I'll enjoy my stock 1SS with Soler PTB for a while still, but on punch it after 5 years you can feel the engine could do more.
