You might get Goodyear to honor the wear warranty on those runflats. It'll give you a discount on your next tire. I did this with a low resistance tire that was on my 14 eco cruze, gave me significant $ off the next set. My local tire store measured what I had left and relayed it to Goodyear, they also gave me the phone number and guided me on how to get it done before they were totally worn out.

Continental makes a good tire, I've been happy with every one I bought.

You are better than I am on this - I just carry a patch kit and a can of fix-a-flat. I buy a new can every time we go on a big driving trip too. Never had to use it thankfully. I like that little jack, might have to spring for one.

Anyone ever try the Michelin Cross Climate 2 size 245/40R20 ? I have a 2020 Convertible with the V6 engine if it makes a difference. Thanks

I would go read some tire test results on tirerack.com.

The reviews led me to BFG Comp2 A/S (way less expensive than Conti and Michelin to boot). These are funky looking directional tires with great handling and traction. In a square setup, you will be able to rotate them front to rear but not side to side.

In my case, I have staggered widths, so no rotation. Still the first set lasted 40K and then finally aged out when the tires became hard and noisy after 5 years. I replaced them with the same.

So if I’m at 5/32, is it all bad to wait for 4/32? I only drive around town, with run flats I can probably get to any tire store. I can probably get another year/5k miles if I wait. I don’t drive in crappy weather conditions. If it’s bad we have SUV. Thanks

The standard GY Asym all seasons are 9/32" new, so 5/32" are not needing replacement based solely on tread depth.

Manufacturers consider 2/32" as bald (particularly when factoring warranty). Most will generally indicate that 3/32" is unsafe for any winter driving on an all season tire although I don't think theres a hard rule for any of this.

I replaced my tires at 4/32" & 5/32" at 24,000 miles this Spring due to noise. I'd planned on keeping them in another season or two (only summer driving), but the Mrs. complained about the drone, so new tires were on order. I disliked the ride quality from the onset so I wasn't upset to spend the money sooner than I'd planned. Mind you this is a 2016 with the stock tires, so they'd be 7 years old, and I'd replace them regardless due to age.

If you can stand the noise and ride, you may have another season or two on those tires.

You can wait to replace the tires if you need to. Shouldn’t be a problem.

Its a year and a half later and I'm at 4/32 & 24,400 miles.
I'm trying to figure out which is better for me; Continental Control Contact, Continental Extreme Contact, or Pirelli P Zero AS. I see test results but I'm not sure which is best for my Camaro. The Michelin Cross Climate2 aren't available in my size at Sam's Club, I think because of some speed rating BS. Thanks

I've heard good things about the Conti ExtremeContact Sport 02's.

The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S is still the best street tire out there. I've had it for several years and these tires are absolutely great, if somewhat expensive (unfortunately). The Continental ECS 02 is probably very close, one can't go wrong with either of these.

EDIT: If you want all-season tires because Kansas, they both have A/S variants, too (PS4S AS and EC DWS06+).
