Ground Effects Kit + Lowering kit & sway bar upgrade
Hi Camaro6,
Currently running a 2018 2SS without magride suspension. Considering adding the lowering kit (86773565) and sway bar upgrade (84401188). The car is my daily driver, and I go to the track about once a month during the summer. Buhhhht.... I'm also seriously considering the GM Ground Effects Kit (84116167) in black. And I know it's been asked before, and it seems the Ground Effects don't really reduce ride clearance (from photos I've seen, unsure in person). I'm wondering. Does anyone have all of the above on their vehicle? And do you track it without scraping? Or if you have all 3 of the above, is it obviously too low? Thanks for any insight, |

I would think that would not be much different than a 1LE, has ground effects, is lower, I can't imagine you would have any issue, other than the obvious occasional driveway apron lol

The front splitter does reduce clearance by about an inch. May or may not be a problem, depending on where you drive, because the standard 2SS has a fairly large clearance out of the gate. To prevent scraping on badly built driveways and parking lots, I added a couple pieces of this to my (OEM) splitter, it works pretty well: https://www.amazon.com/stores/SLIPLO...3-33FA8BF186B3

Yeah, I didn't even use up the one kit I purchased. I only applied a few strips to the lowest hanging 3 sections of the splitter (middle and around the first "upturn" on both sides), because covering the entire bottom felt overkill.
