ZL1 1LE - softer ride?
Come on! You know I'm not the first!
No seriously my wife doesn't even want to get in the car... Which is why I'm asking. As far as I'm concerned it's awesome except for the occasional large bumps that literally raise my behind out of the seat. So... What tricks? - Lower the tire pressure when my wife is in the car? - Raise the ride height? ZL1 1LE is adjustable but it seems like too much work to switch back and forth and I don't want to leave it at 4x4 height. - Add 4 x 50lbs bags of dogfood (200lbs ballast) to the trunk when my wife is in the car? I'm grasping at straws... Anyone else got any good ideas? My wife thanks you EDIT: 1. I love the car the way it is. I'm only trying to improve the ride quality when not at the track for my wife's sake because SHE thinks its too rough, not me. I love the bumps. 2. Yes I track all my cars and will track this one too. 3. If you don't own a ZL1 1LE please don't tell me I bought the wrong car. I bought the car I wanted and am happy with my purchase. <3 Honestly this car is tame compared to my 2013 Shelby GT500, that car was so track modified that it makes this car feel like a Cadillac.

As previously stated...new wife. Other options...
Get a standard ZL1 Get a CTS-V Choose your roads/routes more carefully Moderate your speed accordingly Limit your use of the Zl1 1LE Those are the only options I can think of that won't require you modifying your car or changing it to the point that you'll kill it's value and appeal. But I'd say just drive the ZL1 1LE solo and use whatever other car you have for trips with the lady. |

Tell her the ride is softer if she rides in the back.

MIchelin PS4S - made for better ride, but its still punishing ride. 285/35 on mine on aftermarket wheels.
Almost 6,000 miles on mine.

I'd give up my car before I give up my wife <3
Usually its just freeway or bridge seams that tend to be fairly pronounced, no avoiding them. Quote:
I hate driving my wife's car -- 2016 Ford Explorer, so mundane. Quote:

My wife is thin but has a very nicely padded seat built in I'll check out 305 & 325 options, thanks!

Why not try one of these seat cusions advertised where you can sit on an egg without it breaking ? Might be worth a try? Doesn't cost much to see if it'd help.

You should be careful; theres a guy on this forum who's been taking the man-cards of anyone complains about the stiff ride in the ZLE. Ive recently heard he sold his dampeners and put in solid rods.
