The only reason I said kinda is after it turned on, I assumed due to the settings it would switch back to v8 mode if it went below 45 mph. It stayed on until I pushed the throttle (like normal) or came almost to a stop.

If anyone has any ideas about that please let me know. Im really happy with the results as it is.
Out of pure curiosity, why don't you turn DoD off altogether instead of tweaking it like this? Have you ever had the A8 shudder? (By the way, if I recall correctly, there are other enable/disable conditions as well, e.g. min time in V8 between two DoD activations, max time spent in V4 etc.)

I originally did have it completely turned off and for my driving habits and daily route to work (15mile drive) I lost 4 to 5 mpg avg per tank so I really benefit from it. I haven't had shudder and tuned the trans to hopefully keep it from doing it. The reason I want a higher turn on speed is around town with the slip tables zeroed out the constant engaging into and out of 4 cyl mode is very noticeable. The two main streets in my town have very steep hills, the throttle needed would cause it to kick in and out more then I would like.

Thanks for the explanation, this makes perfect sense. Obviously the slip was allowed for a reason, these engineers aren't morons, and it's all about balance in the end. Hope you'll find your perfect one now that you're tuned.

I had it kick on after 30mph and then I changed the kpa value to disengage easier under load. I found when driving with the s/c it would not get out of dod until I gave it some decent throttle. It would turn off under 30mph on its own also.
