Well, perhaps we've learned that the ZL1 1LE VIN is not unique or in any sequence just for the 1LE.....???

No way that they could have built from #006-#394-#800 in just a few days...lol...

Something's not right....

Guess I'll need some help wth the math amigo??

I'm 190874
Do you know your build date? Mlee's was built on day one. We could do some basic math and make a guesstimate. But as 2SS said, this plant builds more than just the ZL1 and more than just the Camaro, the CTS and ATS are also produced there. While I can't seem to find its official daily production output, a slightly larger plant produces 1,200 vehicles per day.

For example mlee's was built on day 1 and he's 186031. 68-'88-'01-'10-17's was built on day 2 and is number 186410 and I'm pretty sure it was built early on day 2. 410 is car #5. That's 379 other cars just between ZL1 #2 and #5.

We've already determined that the Camaros aren't sequenced uniquely. All cars at this plant are issued a VIN on order.

Not disagreeing with you....just that they made a big deal out of Rick Hendrick getting ZL1 1LE VIN 001....Is that even possible?

I would need to go back & look at Becky's thread to give you accurate 411...I think mlee told me I was on the 2nd build starting 2/12, but that is just something stuck in my noggin for some reason.

Thank you! I've been wanting to know the invoice price of the A1Z.

The first production car not necessarily VIN 001.

It was a lot more fun with the 5th Gen and the numbered cars. I just got lucky to find out I was 2nd off the line for A10. Yours right up there but

I had the choice and A10 won out over 1LE but it was super close.

My main want is the killer wheels, MUCH wider tires and adjustable dampers. But really don't want to give up mag ride (not a show stopper) and then A10 which was THE showstopper for me. Would have been happy either way.

This is correct. The first ZL1 1LE is not necessarily 200001 just as we know the first ZL1 A10 was not 186001. In fact he bought the car before they even started production so there's no way to tell what the VIN on that car was at the time of the auction.

The car that rolled across the auction floor was not the car that he bought. That was just a preproduction representative. He got to chose the color and options that he wanted.

OK...Sure it hasn't been built yet, but it sure was hyped as being VIN 001....Just sayin'...

Rick Hendrick paid $250,000 for the first 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE

2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE

The very first 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE has a home—and a familiar one at that. None other than Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports and the dealer group that bears his name, purchased the most track-capable Camaro to date.
Of course, owning the first of anything normally doesn't come cheap. Hendrick bid $250,000 to claim the Camaro ZL1 1LE bearing the VIN ending in 001 for his garage of incredible cars during this past weekend's Barrett-Jackson auction in Palm Beach, Florida.
If you missed our past coverage, the Camaro ZL1 1LE is more than just a surname attached. Basically, the car takes aspects from the fifth-generation Camaro Z/28 and fits them to the sixth-generation Camaro's all-star Alpha platform.
The main aspect being*Multimatic DSSV (Dynamic Suspensions Spool Valve) dampers and incredible aerodynamics to attack any track the driver deems necessary. It also weighs 60 pounds less than a regular Camaro ZL1 coupe. Power still comes from a familiar 6.2-liter LT4 V-8 engine which is supercharged to the tune of 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. That's diverted to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox. Oh, and there are mammoth*Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R tires (305s up front and 325s in the back) to pull up to 1.10 gs.
Hendrick's lump sum of $250,000 is going to a good cause, too. Each and every dollar goes*to The United Way charity as most first production General Motors vehicles usually benefit when crossing the Barrett-Jackson auction block.

Yeah that was my point. Most of the times he buys the first car at auction, that particular car hasn't even started production yet.

So it could be 456001 or 356001 or 999001. Those are all different than 100001. They could sequence the car so it has 001 at the end.

Any chance down the road we will get any info from GM to confirm vins / # line up status??

This goes for both A10 or 1LE as it looks like they may be in the same boat??

Really not the big of a deal, but would be sorta cool to have the factoid like you have. I'm sure 1LE owners are just if not more as jacked up. Both cars have a pretty cool factor in their own sense.

Would also be spiffy to know the total #'s of actual 2018 1LE's & both M6 & A10's for the 50th at some point for grins.
