I would think 5s would be feasible, even without turning up the power.

Great results as always

You need a converter if you don't already have one. Your hp level should easily be 5.80 and you need to be cutting 1.30s and your close to that number. Good air is on the way also.

I think the biggest issue right now is our local track. it was a Friday night test and tune with a pile of street tires cars and no track prep. even when I did hook(by leaving soft) it would light them up 100' out. I was getting a nice burn out, tires were picking up rocks on the return road and tried various pressures.

as I posted above I have a number of issues to work through and am happy with my et considering all the places I have to pick up et.

I have a converter. I believe it is too loose and the lock up is not holding. I am seeing 1400rpm slip after the shifts and 600rpm slip at 6700rpm.

I did drive it too and from the track. I expect to see some 5's while driving it to the track

I see I haven't updated this recently. I made it to the local dyno and had some time to creep up the power. at 22psi it made 1090rwhp on a mustang dyno. it had a hard miss at 6700rpm and was still going up so it likely has a little more at 22psi. that is right inline with where the math says i should be so all is well. At some point the 62's will run out or the smallish t3 sized exhaust housing will hurt me.

i made it to a 1/4 mile track for the first time and had a number of issues. my boost controller was erratic and eventually stopped working all together. i did run a 9.83 at 141 with a 1.59 60'. this was at just 9psi. when i went to work my 60' down the axle came apart(didn't break). i did find out the track is pretty laid back with their tech and will likely let me run as fast as i want in the 1/8th all day long. i hope to get back a few times next year.

so, great hp numbers but disappointing et. not surprising considering how often i get to the track. planning for next year i have a number of fairly low budget mods planned.

1. lower the installed height of my valve springs and see if that fixes my miss. i used some special locks that lower the retainer and it looks promising but i haven't been able to get out and see.

2. get set up for dome boost control. this is where you use a pressure source and do a closed loop control of pressure to the top of your gates. this allows you to have a wide range of boost pressures from the smallest spring(5psi) to as high as you want to turn it. it is also speed based or time or rpm or throttle, how ever you want to set it up. i have this project done and working and it works as advertised.

3. get my extra ecm to run the ignition. this should fix any random timing pulls i see which really aren't a big issue any more. it should also allow me to use the 2step . It should also allow for effective traction control. i am working on this project right now.

4. aerospace front brakes. i got the street version which save 40lbs on the front of the car and have reduced drag. when i do these i will also figure out how to get a front speed sensor that i can tie into my extra ecu for traction control.

5. traction control. with the ignition going through the extra ecu and an added front wheel speed sensor i should be able to use the traction control. word is it works pretty good. it has settings to pull timing, boost, spark, add fuel... all based on slip and time. cant wait to play with it.

6. last thing i have planned right now is a light weight battery. i ordered a lithium one from china. i might be throwing my money away on this one but time will tell. it weighs 15lbs and bolts right into the factory location.

paddle shifters for line lock and 2step

I have been messing with my megasquirt ecm and continue to find cool things to do with it. the last few days I hooked the ignition up to the squirt and now have a 2step/3step/traction control/over boost spark cut. I figured out a way to run the line lock and 2step through the paddles. I will have to wait for the ice to clear off my road so I can get away from the house to give it a proper test. I quick test was very loud once it started banging off the 2step.

Would you ever consider doing an A10 swap on the car?

No.

I got some scales. Street trim is 3670lbs and max effort drag strip trim is 3466. Add 180 for me to those numbers. Not too bad.

Pretty good weight considering the extra fuel weight and the weight of the twins

yeah, the twins, scavenge pump, intercooler, charge pipes, bov and wg's, steel driveshaft, bmr stuff, surge tanks and pumps... all add weight.

I wouldn't be surprised if I found another 20-30lbs in small items but I am about out of easy weight loss.

The passenger seat weighs about 57 lbs for cloth 1ss, 2ss is probably higher.

I was just thinking, do you ever sleep? Your mind is running 24 hours a day on how to make that thing unique and really wicked. One day you'll hit the sweet spot and bam you'll be setting at the front of the pack.

I do hope to be near the front of the pack come spring. I just need to make time to get to the track a lot more. Once things start working I am not going to hold back.
