Advice for cutting valve covers

I'm doing a 2650R swap on my ZL1 and I don't have access to a bandsaw to cut the valve covers.

Any advice for something else I could use and not make a mess of it? What did other folks use to cut theirs?

I could buy a bandsaw but it would probably be the only time I ever use it. I also considered just buying new lower profile covers, but I was wanting to stick with the OEM baffling under the assumption it might be better than aftermarket (+ it's cheaper to keep them or buy a bandsaw).

Thanks

If you have a solid work bench you could also clamp the valve covers down tight and use a sawzall or a cut off wheel as King said. They are cast aluminum so pretty easy cut off.

I used a sawzall and cleaned it up with a Dremel. It was pretty easy. Just make sure to clamp the valve cover down firm, and move it around as you need to so you're not in awkward positions. I would, also, tape it off REALLY good and clean it REALLY good, too, before assembly. I think it took longer to cut the valve covers than install the blower, HA. I cut the VCs a week before installing the blower, which made the blower swap really easy and, actually, enjoyable. I don't think I swore once. HAHAHA

radz28, is there a template or guide on what should be cut off? I'd like not swearing....
