MRC rear damper part numbers..
Hi Guys,
Got a 2018 2SS with mag ride. The mileage is silly low and the drivers side rear shock is leaking. Gotta mist of oil on the outer tube. Surely this isn’t normal for a really low mileage car? I find it really “shocking” 😂😂😂 where’s the quality control? Anyway does anyone have a part number for it as I might be ordering one from Rock Auto before the prices go up..😬 Cheers guys👍👍👍 |

Also, being a 2018, if you're still within your 3-year 30,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty your dampers should still be covered unless you've made modifications that impact dampers (aftermarket springs, non-OE wheels tires, etc.). In that case it wouldn't hurt to at least have a dealer look at it, worst case they tell you no

The car is a 2018 model bought new last year and has the grand total of 819 miles! The oil mist ran all the way down the tube so cleaned it off last year pre winter but still a tiny bit is still there but I have to poke my finger up the dust shield to find it...still waiting for the weather to clear to get out and re prove. So open minded on this one at the moment. I have heard stories about the factory over pressuring them and to prove the point I bought a new set of ac delcos for my Z06 (hence my low mileage in the Camaro as I cant drive both at once) One of those was p*ssing oil out it was wet all over but still worked! Does anyone else experience this ???? Guess a spare set is cool! Warranty work here is a PITA as I am in the UK and would mean repeated trips to the stealer to get them to admit to it and then get one in stock etc.. I like a idea of a burping damper..lol Cheers guys |

My thoughts are since the car is a 2018 and not sure what the production date is. It could be close to 3 years old with less that 900 miles, so the seals could need lubrication and thus leak because they are dry and not working correctly. I would drive the car and put it through the paces in corners, stretching its legs so the speak.
