K&N throwing on a cel??
Anyone have any problems with K&N cold air throwing a code? For the 3.6 btw....

Mine did for the 6.2. But I also live in a dusty area. Dealer told me just to try cleaning it out really good and if it keeps doing it then to get a new sensor.

I have the K&N intake for my camaro 3.6L and i got the engine check light i went back to stock don't waste your money on K&N.

I have a k&n filter on mine I have had for 5 months no cel on mine.

i have mine now as well for months on my car, no CEL, nothing happens. And we have here really sandy area!!!maybe u damaged the MAF? or the sensor is dirty? Take the complete intake out and clean it from the inside. Maybe CEL goes away.

I do not own the k&n intake but it has been rumored that it is know to trip a cel because of the oil in the system conracting with mass air flow censor

if it's the black tube then i'm not surprised! i had the same issue couple months ago so i went back to stock and now injen. if you do still want k&n get the typhoon version. it doesn't cause cel problems due to it's design over the aircharger version

I have had a K&N aircharger (black tube) for 2 years. Zero lights from the intake. It's a good intake, especially paired with a scoop.

I've had my K&N for almost 3 years and have cleaned and oiled it 3 times. No CELs or issues. IMHO, dollar for dollar, it is the best CAI on the market.

I had the k&n aircharger and it kept throwing a CEL. Cleaned MAF sensor and everything. Nothing helped and it kept coming on. contacted k&n and they said they've been having problems and they gave me a full refund. Bought a CAI and haven't had one problem.

I installed a K&N black tube twice last year and I got a cel each time. I changed for for an other type...I installed it on a friend 2011 and he did'nt get a cel and that is some 8 months now. So what is different from an engine to the other?

Black tube does throw CEL, call K&N and they will exchange you with the metal tube version for free and that does not throw the CEL. Happened to mine 8 mos ago. No problems since switch.
