I may be insane...1LE to ZL1?

I just found a 2023 ZL1 vert at a local dealer. my 22 1SS 1LE has no lien on it and 190 miles.

I'm considering trading, but i'd have a small loan.

Any one go up from SS 1LE to ZL1 and miss your SS? Worth it?

Depends on what you use it for? A vert will be less stiff and since its not a 1LE won't handle as well as your 1LE now. Unless you use it as just a cruiser, then it'll be fine. The extra power will be nice.

Cruiser and for fun. I just came out of a vert because my kids hated the wind, and it was a 5th gen.

I'd like to track the 1LE but it won't be the only thing it does. ... wonder what the wind is like in the back in the ZL1

I agree. Vert vs. coupe would be more of a question for me. Two totally different experiences. I'm not a convertible person so that wouldn't be something I'd be interested in, but you may be.

I would think the same as what your 5th Gen was, you sold to your Dad. And your kids didn't care for the vert , stay with your SS LE , or look for a ZL1 Coupe.
That's a beautiful SS you have. Good luck on your dicision.

If you're doing it right the wind will feel like 200HP more.

1LE to vert will be 2 completely different animals and definitely wont handle the same. The vert will be faster in straight line but you have a pretty special carr with the SS 1LE. I would enjoy that first until making a decision.

I'd go for that Zl1, you'll have no regrets.

ZL1 COUPE WOULD BE THE SAME BASICALLY IN TERMS OF SUSPENSION AND BRAKING BUT BEING A VERT THERE IS NO ELSD AND NO COOLERS DUE TO ROOM I BELIEVE, I COULD BE WRONG ON THAT.

Call me Negative Nellie, but the ZL1 vert already has 3 strikes:
1) Kids hate the wind
2) Increased cost
3) You have to ask the internet to convince you to buy it.

Will the extra 200 HP offset that? Not sure how much fun that added power will be in your part of Pittsburgh.

Goodness no. I had an SS 1LE and a ZL1 1LE. I've driven a regular ZL1 a few times, too. There was nothing about the ZL1 models that I really liked over the SS 1LE. If I didn't sell my SS 1LE to get a C7 Z06, I would have never traded it to get a ZL1. I only got the ZL1 later on to hold me over while my current car was being built and sold it right when I got the car back.

A properly setup SS 1LE, to me, is far more fun and accessible than the ZL1 models. Even more so you shouldn't do it if you have no lien against it. Do a HCI setup on the SS 1LE and enjoy that car instead.

How did you like your widebody hellcat in comparison to the Camaro?

I didn't keep that for very long, either. It was a very comfortable cruiser that had serious traction issues in stock form. It was also woefully under-braked and made for a very uncomfortable driving experience when trying to do anything other than ease into whatever situation you're in. You can tell the chassis and interior feels dated and if it wasn't for that blower whine and wonderful exhaust note, that vehicle would not be worth its price of entry at all.

I'm more of a performance metrics kind of guy. The Redeye looked great on paper to be a fun bruiser but, it just ended up being a clumsy car that wasn't very good at anything. Don't get me wrong, however, if I wanted another car that sounded and looked great but didn't go anywhere fast, I'd buy a widebody regular Hellcat Challenger with a manual.
