My cam swap install**edit ANOTHER CASE OF CHAIN TENSIONER FAILURE**

***You can look at the pic I took before removing the tensioner; it was already broken at the top! So there was a good slack in the chain and a little piece has fallen in the engine at sometimes, maybe its still floating in the oil pan but I think its gone with last oil changes. Before starting the job, I was already set on a LS2 timing chain dampener...BEST DECISION EVER!

The worst part is that the metal piece that is actually applying tension to the orange plastic part, which broke at the top, is now loose and can fall anytime in the engine! In fact, it fell into my hands when I removed the oil pump! I was wondering what the hell was that! I put it back to take the picture. Even though its tight in there, it could have fallen somewhere!!***

I started the cam install yesterday, slowly but surely!

Parts used;
-231/236 111 LSA TSP cam kit, 650 lift spings, TI retainers
-LT1 timing chain
-Hi press Melling oil pump

looking for a remote tune now.

While at it, I've discover that there is some difference between 2010 and 2013 Camaro; A/C arent setup the same which is easier to work in front of the bay, but a PITA around the oil pan cause the ground is routed over oil pan bolts.

Anyway heres where I'm at for now. Should take some more days since I do not have my gaskets/chain/timing gear..

The cam is fantastic. I don't think I'll ever own a GM V8 without a cam for the rest of my life LOL!

That is good news! I hesitated to get the 235 but favored the 231 since its a street car and spend a lot of time between 3000-5500..

Just make sure not to lock your knees the whole time while you work on the car. My knees were sore as all get out for two days after the swap
