Tracks in NY

Does anyone know of tracks that the public can go and learn how to race on? The only one near me is the Monticello Race Club in Sullivan County and its private. Costs about 150k a year for a membership I think lol.

Thanks
Ken

It looks like you are in Orange County, NY? If you are near Monticello, NY Safety Track does Car days and isn't too expensive. It is a few hours further upstate, but closer than Watkins Glen. http://nyst.com

Also, Lime Rock Park in Connecticut offers track days, usually as a part of a club. You should think about joining your local SCCA and signing up for one of their PDX/ HPDE days. It is probably the cheapest and safest way to approach doing a track day for someone new to the scene. http://www.psccny.com

There will be a new road course opening up this summer just north of Syracuse (in Hastings, NY).
I think it's called Central New York Raceway Park. They have a FB page.

Dam that's awesome! I wish they had some local tracks somewhere in Long Island NY. I can't find anything in my area at all. I live in the 5 boroughs go figure lol
