Michelin Pilot Sport 4S on track ?

Hi everyone,

It's time to change tires on my ss1LE. got 16k miles on them.

It's my daily drive and I occasionally bring her to the track (3-4 HPDEs a year)
I am pretty satisfied with the stock tires but they don't handle well on wet and they wear fast.

Any experience with the P4s on track ? are they as good as the PSS or the Goodyear in trackdays ? ie resist to high temp and provide grip without excessive wear

Cheers
TM

Honestly, the answer really depends upon your pace on track. If you're a novice to intermediate level driver they should be pretty good. I was pleasantly surprised by the PS4S pace on track during a morning session before the track temp came up (80f day), but once the track was hot in the afternoon, they would only last about 1 lap before they overheated and were sliding around. They're a great street tire and capable on track, but not an equal to the OE Goodyears nor an RS4 or RE71R.

Thanks guys, I guess I will stick with the OEM tires until I buy a dedicated set of wheels for track tires
I heard Apex came up with a square set that does not require spacers !
Model ARC-8 CAMARO wheels 19x10.5 ET35

Cheers
