Commuting

I commute an hour and fifteen minutes to work. I drive a company car, Honda Civic, and I hate it. I probably put 30k miles a year on a company car. I'm grateful for the company car and not putting a lot of mile on my vehicle, but everyday I'm thinking to myself I wish I was in my Camaro. At least if I was in my Camaro I probably wouldn't feel as much dead inside on my way to work. Anyone else drive a sad commuting car?

I drive my Camaro 60 miles round trip to work each day, but drive a company vehicle during work. If I had to drive the company car to work everyday I'd probably go nuts lol

Yes I am...!! I drive a 2001 Lincoln town car as my commuter car. Everyday I wish I could be in the Camaro as I leave it home in the garage by choice. But... then as rocks hit my windshield and front end from semi's and trucks passing by and bad weather comes strolling in I remember my Camaro is nice and safe at home in the garage waiting for a nice day to take it out to play lol.

+1 The exact feeling I have daily driving a 2000 Yukon XL. I don't hate driving the Yukon though.

I drive an old truck and I grateful that I have it and that the camaro is in the garage, away from flying rocks and out of 112f sun.

I don't drive a boring commuter car. And is my reason that I don't have an SS. I have two nice commuter cars and would rather that than a more expensive, faster car that I would drive much less or weekends only. I drive 50-60 minutes each way every day and rotate between my 2016 Camaro LT and my 2018 GTI. Both are very fun cars to drive and make my drive nice. They also get very good gas mileage to keep my fuel expenses down. It allows me to like my drive rather than hate it every day. The only downside is that I don't have a super fast car on the weekend. I see all the cookie cutter commuter cars most people drive every day and feel I have a better commuter but on the weekends I see a lot of Corvettes, SS's, Mustang GT's, then I feel I have a lesser car.

My commuter is a 2016 Jeep Cherokee. It's not bad. It excels at what it was made for, which is navigating the urban wildlands. I only commute about 20 minutes, so I do bring the Fifty on occasion, but it's mostly reserved for weekend excursions.

I love my SS as my primary commuter car but my commute is only 7 miles one way but I also drive to Atlanta from Austin fairly often and put about 35k miles on it in about a year and a quarter.

If it were me.... I love the SS but I'd much rather put the miles and the possibility of some idiot on his cell phone in rush hour traffic hitting me on the COMPANY CAR.... not the SS.

You have it better than you realize. Beat the hell out of the company car that nobody cares about / no liability and queen the SS in the garage.

The world has blinded you. You need yourself an SS.

I'd be more sad putting a lot of commuting miles on the Camaro instead of saving it for joy rides.

Miles on my Camaro don't bother me. I just enjoy the drive even if it's just the 40 mile blast on the freeway to work. I commute in my SS 100 miles round trip M-F. There's something to be said about an open stretch of 3 lane freeway at 6:30 in the morning

Be glad you have a company car to put all those commute miles on instead of the Camaro. Don't have a company car, but fortunate my daily ride is only 25 miles.

my commute consists of a walk down the hallway into the kitchen to brew a pot of coffee and then another walk back down the hall to my home office!
