SCARY Tornado Norman OK!

Was going down to a friends house over by E. Lindsay and as I am approaching the neighborhood my car got tugged hard to the left: wheels were completely straight. I look up and realize a spiral coming down not 2-3 blocks away. I flip a s*** as I see cars go screaming by, drop gear, and take off south to highway 9.

As I reach highway 9, another tornado touches down not 300 meters on my right, as I am heading West. Pulled me off the road pretty hard almost pulled me into a ditch. Dropped the ebrake and pressed on my brakes with all the force I could. Car didn't budge. Then came an outward "explosion" of just all types of crap! Signs, dirt, grass, dust, poles! A taurus 2 cars infront of me got smacked by one breaking his back right window and passenger door. He was okay and was laughing about it after. Anyway when I saw the wind die down I took off again and got onto 12th where it was tornado-less! As I look around all I see are flipped cars, traffic jams, sirens, poles everywhere, signs everywhere. Except for a lot of dirt and grass nothing hit my car (thank god!) although my front axle seems to be responding weird (going to check it out later) but I was scared sh**less! Never had one spiral right on me before. I was lucky, there were quite afew cars overturned and others blown into ditches. Couple boats from a nearby place were flipped. Finally got to friends house to find him sitting on his porch with a beer open watching the clouds!

Miss that place, I'm one of those people that loves tornadoes. Now, being in a car isn't too much fun, but otherwise, they are interesting. I just moved to Texas back in January. I was living in OKC by Northwest Expressway and Council. Wiley Post Airport got hit every year. Have you seen the Gary England drinking game? You'd go through a lot of alcohol.

I've never felt something like that. My wheels were completely straight and parallel and yet the force of the wind nearly pulled me off the road.

If that makes any sense. It was real real scary. No way to control it or anything. Were it not for the some miracle that angled itself towards the wind (picture a dog yanking away from his owner on a leash)
This is where the brakes played a huge factor and possibly saved me from a nasty ditch and fence. I know it would have been much worse, possibly deadly (amount of crap flying around was dangerous)

Thanks brembo! Saved my baby

Dramatic video re-enactmentof this event

NOTE No Camaros were harmed in the making of this video. Aries K cars were used as stunt cars since no one would care if they got harmed.

WOw I'm glad your okay, I was stuck in 5:00 traffic when the hail started, I drove down the shoulder and flew down the back roads to get home, baseball size hail all over my car, I made it home safe, though it was funny to see my dad outside waving for me to hurry into the garage as i was going 50 down our street...

Haha! Glad you're okay! I got my car into the stadium b/c I'm awaiting hail! I was trying to run away from the 1st tornado that touched down in E. Lindsay and was going down E 24th at like 100mph trying to get away, only to run into another one that nearly swept me up cuz of my speed!
